Slovakia - Jaslovské Bohunice V2

The third and fourth block of the nuclear power plant Jaslovské Bohunice V2 were commissioned in 1984 and 1985 together with 4 220 MW generators.

After shut down of the nuclear power plant Jaslovské Bohunice V1, which happened on request of EU, the V2 nuclear power plant became one of the most important energy sources in Slovakia.

The request for increase of the power output to 253 MW was a logical next step. The owner of V2 nuclear power plant (Slovenské elektrárne, a.s., incorporated in Enel group) invited tenders for this project and BRUSH succeeded in the competition.

BRUSH delivered new hydrogen, water and oil systems to cool and lubricate the generators. Vibration measuring sensors including diagnostic and measuring of partial discharges were also installed on all generators.

BRUSH will deliver 4 new stator frames, 4 re-wound rotors and 1 spare rotor. Maximum capacity of nuclear power plant Jaslovské Bohunice V2 will be increased by 15% to 1020MW in the year 2010.

All works at nuclear power plant Jaslovské Bohunice will be executed during times of planned shut down, when the atomic fuels are changed in the reactors
