Brush Transformers were recently awarded an order to repair a 60MVA Transformer on the Isle of Man. The transformer is critical to the island as it supplies electricity via the sub-sea cable link from the UK mainland.
Logistics on this project were challenging. To extract the transformer required the demolition of the outer wall of the building as well as draining and removing a reactor that was blocking the exit route. The unit that required repair was then turned 180 degrees before being carefully skidded placed onto the back of a waggon. The first reactor was then reinstated.
Brush brought the transformer back to Loughborough where it was de-tanked, inspected and will receive a full internal replacement before being returned to site.
Brush Transformers were selected based on Price, Quality, Delivery and their ability to provide unrivalled service.
