BRUSH’s venture into China has got off to a successful start, with construction of the new £30 million plant at Changshu now under way. Earthworks designed to raise the level of the site are complete and piling has commenced. Meanwhile the first machinery for the project, a lamination line from Omera, Italy, was ordered in October and since then further orders have been placed.
“We have also received our business licence from the People’s Republic of China to form our legal entity, Brush Electrical Machines (Changshu) Ltd,” said Richard Guest, Executive Director, China.
Also building nicely is the project team, explained Richard: “We have three dedicated employees in Europe, Alex MacConaill and Luke Johnson in Loughborough, Bohumír Vitek in Czech Republic and several more in support roles. “We are now in the process of appointing expats and making local appointments in China.”
