BRUSH Turbogenerators has secured an order for the delivery of 10 lightweight turbogenerators that will be installed in seven districts of Moscow and its surrounding region this year. The generators will be used to support the growth of the metropolitan area power system.
Each direct air cooled BDAX62-170ER generator can provide 25 MVA of electrical power at a site condition of 15 degrees Celsius. The generator’s have been custom configured to fit inside a compact trailer layout which can be driven to a new site and begin generating power in less than one day.

Two generators have already been installed and have been synchronised to the grid, the remaining eight will be installed, commissioned and put into operation by the end of November 2007. BRUSH engineers are assisting with the installation and electrical commissioning of all these units.
