Ormat recently took delivery of their 50th generator from BRUSH, for their geothermal power plant Dora 3 Unit 2, in Turkey. Ormat use a binary technology based around the Organic Rankine Cycle utilising double end drive 4-pole generators which BRUSH have been proud to supply since 2005.
The units have been used in countries such as USA, Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvadore, New Zealand, Kenya, Azores and Turkey providing in excess of 1.2GW of power.
At a product optimisation meeting recently held between BRUSH and Ormat Technologies at Ormat’s engineering and manufacturing facility located in Yavne, Isreal, and in recognition of the valued partnership, Matt Hinton, Sales Director EMEA for BRUSH, presented Shimon Hatzir, Ormat’s Senior Vice President Engineering, with a glass shard to commemorate the highly significant milestone.
As at July 2013, the total number of units supplied and in production totals sixty though the delivery of the 50th unit was one that deserved celebration.
Both companies are looking forward to the next 50 units and optimising the generator scope and specification to ensure Ormat receive maximum value from BRUSH as their generator partner.
