Denmark - Turbogenerator still at optimum performance after 60 years in service
BRUSH were chosen to carry out the refurbishment of an original Skoda manufactured turbogenerator, which had been installed and successfully functioning since it’s installation in 1948 at the thermal power plant in Svanemolle, Denmark.
The work entailed disassembly of the generator, replacement of major parts such as the rotor winding, retaining rings, slip rings and the stator winding. The excitation system and water cooler were also replaced. The refurbished machine re-entered service in 2008
The 25MW generator is cooled by air and water, with a static excitation system
The refurbishment of the Svanemolle generator reinforces BRUSH’s ability to successfully carry out repairs and refurbishments on machines of any age
