Chris Abbott

CEO

Chris Abbott was appointed CEO - BRUSH Group April 2017. Prior to joining BRUSH, he held several Senior Industrial and Executive positions with Schlumberger & Vesuvius Plc. From 2008 - 2016 he held the position of Business President – Flow Control Division at Vesuvius Plc where his broad multinational management experience allowed him to operate within a range of diverse International settings. He completed an Engineering apprenticeship with the Wolseley Group whilst studying Mechanical Engineering and Business Studies at the Birmingham City University. Chris is based in the UK and is a British citizen.

Howard Lomax

Howard Lomax

Finance Director BRUSH Group

Howard Lomax joined BRUSH in March 2019. Prior to this he worked for Crown Packaging in various finance roles before becoming CFO for Crown’s European Division. Earlier he spent time in ITT Europe and American Can Company. Howard has lived and worked in UK, Belgium, Germany, France, Switzerland and the USA. He is a chartered management accountant and holds a degree in economics from Queen’s University, Belfast. He currently lives in Switzerland but is based in Loughborough.

Ben Hewitson

Group General Counsel and Company Secretary

Ben joined BRUSH as Group General Counsel in August 2013. He was appointed as Company Secretary in August 2015 and became part of the BRUSH Executive Team in January 2016. Prior to joining BRUSH, Ben spent five years at LINPAC Group, a global packaging business, as Senior Legal Counsel. Ben trained and practised as a corporate lawyer spending 8 years in private practice with Eversheds, Pinsent Masons and Gateley Plc. Ben went to Nottingham Law School.

Marco Van Schaik

Executive Sales Director

Marco van Schaik, Executive Sales Director since June 2017, joined BRUSH in November 2014 as Aftermarket Sales Director EMEA. Prior to joining BRUSH, Marco spent 6 years at Elliott Turbomachinery, a centrifugal compressors and steam turbine OEM from Pittsburgh as Regional Sales Manager EMEA and Alliance Manager. Starting his professional career over 25 years ago as an Application & Tendering Engineer, he gradually progressed in roles with growing depth and width in Sales and Business Development in equipment- and service sales with reputable equipment OEMs in the Power Generation and Oil & Gas industries. Marco holds a master’s degree in Operational Technology and Controls, an MBA degree and 6-Sigma Black Belt in DMEDI and DMAIC methodology. Marco is based in Switzerland and holds dual (Swiss, Dutch) citizenship. 

Christian Lordereau

Group HR Director

Christian Lordereau was appointed Group Human Resources Director in January 2018. Prior to joining BRUSH, Christian worked twelve years for Crown Packaging where he held several Senior HR positions such as European Industrial Relations Director and Speciality Packaging Europe, both based in France and Switzerland. He most recently worked for Esterline (Aerospace & Defence based in Bellevue, WA) as VP HR for the Sensors and Systems Segment covering 25 sites in America, Europe, Africa and Asia. Christian trained as a lawyer at Paris University of Pantheon-Assas. He is based in the UK and is a French and British citizen.

Gunter Halfar

Chief Technology Officer

Günter Halfar was appointed Group Chief Technology Officer in September 2018. Prior to joining BRUSH, Günter held various senior Technology roles within Siemens, 3M and GE, where his most recent positions were Country Technical Director and Senior Innovation Leader. Günter has wide experience in R&D, Organisational & Project management across diverse portfolios within the Power Generation, Mining & Transportation markets. Günter has a Master‘s Degree in Leading Innovation and Change from York St. John University and in addition holds a Diploma in Electrical Engineering from the University of Johannesburg. Günter is based in Plzen, Czech Republic and is a German Citizen.

Pavel Lukes

Pavel Lukes

Managing Director, Europe

Pavel Lukes was appointed Managing Director Europe in June 2016. Pavel joined BRUSH in 2001 and since then he held several Group management positions as well as managing the BRUSH business in the Czech Republic. Prior to its acquisition by BRUSH, Pavel worked for Skoda Electrical Machines where he held several technical and management roles. He has wide experience in general management and international organisational development with additional experience in engineering and operations. Pavel has a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of West Bohemia and he also has a Master’s degree in Management from the University of Manchester / UMIST. Pavel is based in Plzeň and is a Czech citizen.

Graeme Peck

Operations Director, BRUSH UK

Graeme Peck was appointed Operations Director, BRUSH Generators in March 2017. Having joined BRUSH Electrical Machines Ltd in 2011, Graeme was appointed Controls Manager for BRUSH Group and promoted to BRUSH UK Head of Operations, covering Manufacturing, SHEQ, Engineering and Purchasing in 2016. Prior to moving into Industrial Power Generation, he held senior managerial positions with STADCO Automotive and METZELER APS, both Tier 1 Automotive businesses. He completed an Operations Management Apprenticeship with Colbro Imperial Holdings whilst studying Business Management at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa. Graeme is based in Loughborough, UK and is a British citizen.

Managing Director, BRUSH Americas Services

Jim Chrise joined the BRUSH Group in 2017 as Managing Director for BRUSH Services Americas in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Prior to coming to BRUSH, Jim had a 32-year career at Bayer in the company’s Polymers sector, now Covestro AG, with 19 years in roles of increasing responsibility in engineering and manufacturing in both the US and Germany and more recently 13 years in business general leadership roles in the US. Jim has a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering and completed an Executive MBA program at the University of Notre Dame.

Meirion Richards

Meirion Richards

Managing Director, BRUSH Switchgear & Transformers

Meirion was appointed Managing Director of the Transformer and Switchgear businesses in July 2017 having joined the company in August 2016. Prior to joining BRUSH, Meirion ran the UK manufacturing division of an international Pharmaceutical company. Previously Meirion worked at Ford Motor Company for sixteen years where he held several Senior Technical Engineering and Operational roles. Meirion has wide experience of managing complex projects and implementing Lean principles within manufacturing organisations. Meirion is a Lean Six Sigma Black belt and has a First Class Degree in Engineering.

Stewart Winship

Stuart Winship

Managing Director, HGI Generators

Stuart was appointed Managing Director of HGI in February 2019. Prior to joining Stuart has held the position of EMEA Sales Director and UK Managing Director for Tennant Company. As well as commercial experience Stuart has extensive leadership and business transformation experience in a variety of Operations roles including 8 years in manufacturing with Pepsico and 3 years field operations with ATS Euromaster. Stuart began his career in the aggregates industry and holds a degree in Quarry and Road Surface Engineering from Leeds University. Stuart is a UK citizen and lives in the Peak District.
